He pushed me, what do I do?

We were in a small verbal disagreement when he said "I was ungrateful"-a word I am sensitive to. I wanted to stop him there and defend myself. Out of frustration, yes, I did push him and started crying but I swear I did not push him that hard at all. I'm a real small girl so it's not like I can make much of an impact. Without hesitation he pushed me back like 10x harder and luckily the bed was behind me. I don't know what to do now. We are both 21, been together 9 months (have a history of verbal fights but recently it had gotten better) and we are almost like each others family.
